Dear Friend

Have you ever obsessed over your bio?

I find that I’m always tweaking it, searching for that right combination of words to illustrate who I am and to identify the core of what drives me. A few days ago, I came across an excellent article on the role of tears cultivating resiliency by Deborah MacNamara Ph.D., and she introduced herself with a word that resonated so deeply with who I am. I immediately felt recognised, seen and not alone! She introduced herself first and foremost as a developmentalist…one who is passionate about understanding the conditions we need to create to allow human beings to flourish.

Hi, my name is Lia, and I’m a developmentalist.

This is the heart behind everything I do, and what fuels my interest in kinesiology, parenting (and re-parenting ourselves), and well-being. I'm a mother to 16-month old Orion, a human design Projector and an HSP (highly sensitive person).

Kinesiology is my preferred method in uncovering what you need to flourish. I've also studied to be birth doula, and use my knowledge to help support women in pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. I'm also currently an Aware Parenting instructor in training.

I'm concerned that children are losing our kind and caring feelings: About themselves, about each other, the planet. (This is not anecdotal. One study of American students revealed that levels of empathy in this demographic fell by 48 percent between 1979 and 2009.)

I believe a more beautiful world is possible.

I see how we birth, how we parent and how we care for ourselves as part of the solution to creating a world where kindness, compassion and empathy is the currency.

I’ll leave you with this question: What conditions do you need to create, so that you and your children can flourish?

If you’d like to explore this further with me, schedule a session here.

Thanks for being here.

Much love,
Lia
